Meet Chief David P. Novak

Chief Novak began his career at the Sheffield Lake Fire Department in 1997 as a part-time firefighter/paramedic. In August of 2000 Chief Novak was hired as a full-time SLFD firefighter/paramedic.  He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2006. During his time as Lieutenant, Chief Novak’s duties included fire prevention, fire investigation and training officer.

Sheffield Lake’s Fire Department is dedicated to keeping residents, employees at local businesses and visitors to the city safe in times of emergency, whether fighting fires or providing  emergency medical services.

The department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with at least three firefighters/paramedics on duty at all times. The Sheffield Lake Fire Department has been able to provide the community with an average response time around four (4) minutes when assistance is needed.

Additional Services:

  • Lock Boxes – Residents can purchase a lock box from the Fire Department in order to store a key to the resident’s home, for use by the department in the event that the resident cannot come to the door in an emergency. There is a $25 fee to purchase a lock box.
