The Sheffield Lake Civic Pride Committee wishes to thank and congratulate all of the 32 (yes, 32!) entrants in the 2015 SHEFFIELD LAKE HALLOWEEN DISPLAY CONTEST.
The committee was very impressed by the many wonderful, ingenious, and just-plain-fun displays throughout the city … from Queen Court in the West to Erieview Boulevard in the East. Whether scary or whimsical, eye-poppingly elaborate or charming in its simplicity, each showed true Halloween spirit and deserves everyone’s heartiest congratulations.
Judging took place October 24-26 between 7 P.M. and 9 P.M. Six teams of judges independently viewed each display and rated it on a 10-point scale. The judges considered such factors as scariness, creativity, and whimsy, and assigned scores based on their opinion of the overall quality of the display. The scores were then submitted for tabulation, and the displays were ranked based on their average scores.
Needless to say, with so many excellent displays out there it was no easy task for the committee to choose this year’s winners. But here they are.
