City-wide yard sale set for July 22
A first-ever city-wide yard sale will be held Saturday, July 22, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This presents an opportunity for residents to sell toys or clothing the kids have outgrown, garden equipment that is no longer used, household items and more. Residents are free to post signs to promote their sale at the end of their streets. Garage sale permits are not required for this event.
As a service to residents, the city will open the service garage that day so residents can dispose of items they do not sell, or donate them. The garage will be open from 1-3:30 p.m. Assistance will be available for heavier items, but residents are asked to place smaller items in dumpsters themselves. They are also asked to separate out items to be donated and to leave them in the area designated for donations. This area will not have assistance so tax receipts are not available. Residents are reminded the city cannot accept anything with a flammable liquid, paint or tires.
