LEAF PICKUP

There is no set street schedule for leaf pick-up. Our crews mobilize as more leaves start to fall –
historically toward the end of October. They start at the east end of town and work their way west and
they will make this sweep as many times as they can. As the leaf volume increases, their progress will
slow down. However, they will continue to pick up well into December as weather permits or until we
have a significant amount of snow.

TRICK-OR-TREAT

Trick-or-Treat is traditionally held October 31, from 6 pm until 7:30 pm. If there are any changes to this
day or time, it will be posted on the website.

governmennt. If there are issues, you may contact Norfolk & Southern Police (800) 946-4744.

Ohio 44054. Please make sure to include the full name and address for placement of box.

DO NOT KNOCK LIST

Signing up for the “Do not knock list” is easy. We just need your address to add it to our list. This list is
given to any and all solicitors who obtain a soliciting permit from City Hall. Signing up for this list does
not assure that someone will not knock on your door, as they may ignore the list we give them, but we
will still try. If you have someone who is persistent in knocking on your door or will not leave your
property, contact the Police Department at 440-949-7131.

LIGHT POLE OUTAGES

Street lights in the City are the property of and maintained by First Energy. If you need to report an
outage, (888) 544-4877. This number is specific for pole outages. Give them the exact location of the
pole. We feel this is the best way to alert them to an outage as they may come out during the day and not observe the light outage. Also, this ensures they are not getting information from a third party.

ANIMAL/CRITTER ISSUES

The city does not remove nuisance wildlife. We suggest you call an animal control or wildlife removal
service.

PROPERTY LINE QUESTIONS

The city does not provide surveying services and we suggest you hire a professional surveyor for certified
results of your property lines. You can also access quite a bit of property information from the Lorain
County Auditor at the following site: Lorain County Auditor GIS
