The state of Ohio will allocate $50 million from the Coronavirus Relief Fund from the CARES Act to 47 Community Action Agencies to help Ohioans that have experienced economic hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Each Community Action Agency will receive a portion of the funding based on their Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) CARES Act allocation.
Many Ohio families are struggling to pay their bills because of COVID-19’s impact on the economy. There are several resources available to help customers maintain or reconnect gas service.
Lorain County is eligible to apply to the State of Ohio, Development Services Agency (ODSA) for Community Housing Impact and Preservation (CHIP) funding. The CHIP program is funded under the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), and Ohio Housing Trust Funds (OHTF). CDBG and HOME funds originate with the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), and OHTF originate with the State of Ohio.
Due to the ongoing abuse of the “Bulk Pick-up” procedure, the City has been enforcing time restrictions for setting out bulk garbage items. Residents who violate the restrictions will be sited for littering.
